Find support that fits your needs.
Whether it’s a child finding their voice, an adult recovering after a stroke, or someone living with a progressive neurological condition, our speech pathologists provide personalised support for a wide range of communication and swallowing needs. We support:
Support starts with a conversation
Speech therapy can help with a wide range of communication and swallowing challenges, from common concerns such as speech delays, stuttering and language disorders to more complex conditions that require specialised assessment and multidisciplinary care. While we support individuals at every stage of their communication journey, our clinicians have particular expertise in delivering personalised therapy for complex developmental, neurological and swallowing disorders.
Communication challenges can look different for every individual with autism. Our speech pathologists tailor therapy to support language development, social communication, and emotional understanding, working closely with families and other healthcare professionals to achieve meaningful outcomes.
People with cerebral palsy may experience difficulties with speech clarity, language, eating or swallowing. Therapy focuses on improving communication, building independence and recommending strategies or assistive technologies that make everyday life easier.
As dementia progresses, communication and swallowing abilities can gradually change. We provide practical strategies to help individuals maintain communication for as long as possible while supporting families and carers to adapt to changing needs.
Parkinson’s disease can affect voice volume, speech clarity and swallowing. Our speech pathologists develop personalised therapy plans to help individuals communicate more confidently, manage swallowing difficulties and maintain quality of life.
A stroke can affect the ability to speak, understand language, read, write or swallow. We provide individualised stroke rehabilitation to help people regain communication skills, rebuild confidence and maximise independence throughout recovery.
Swallowing difficulties can affect nutrition, hydration and safety during meals. Our clinicians assess swallowing function and develop tailored management strategies to help individuals eat and drink more safely while maintaining comfort and quality of life.
Whether you’re seeking support for a child’s speech delay or navigating a complex neurological condition as an adult, choosing the right speech pathologist means finding a team with the experience to understand your unique needs. At Brighter Futures Allied Health, we combine specialist expertise with coordinated, person-centred care to help individuals communicate, eat and participate in everyday life with greater confidence.
Our speech pathologists support children, adults and older adults with a broad range of communication and swallowing needs. From early language development to stroke rehabilitation and Parkinson’s disease, families can access tailored care across every stage of life.
Complex conditions often benefit from a team approach. We work closely with GPs, paediatricians and specialists, while collaborating with our in-house occupational therapists to provide coordinated care that supports the whole person, not just their diagnosis.

No. You don’t need a referral to book a private speech therapy appointment with Brighter Futures Allied Health.
If you’re concerned about your child’s speech development or you’ve noticed changes in communication or swallowing after a stroke or another neurological condition, you can book an assessment directly without first seeing a GP.
However, if you’re planning to claim Medicare benefits through a Chronic Condition Management Plan or access another funding pathway, a referral or supporting documentation may be required. If you’d like a referral, you can speak with your GP or a healthcare provider at Westmead Hospital, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, or another medical specialist or clinic in Parramatta.
If you’re unsure whether you need a referral, our team can explain your options before you book.
Yes, in some circumstances. Medicare may provide a rebate if you’re eligible for a Chronic Condition Management Plan arranged by your GP. For example, someone living with a long-term neurological condition may be referred by their GP for allied health services under a GPCCMP Plan.
However, not everyone qualifies for Medicare-funded speech therapy. Some people instead access services through the NDIS, private health insurance or self-funding. If you’re unsure which funding option applies, contact our team and we’ll help point you in the right direction.
